MUD TERRAIN TYRES ARE SELECTED FOR 20% ROAD AND 80% OFF ROAD FOR THE SERIOUS VEHICLES SPENDING THE MAJORITY OF TIME OFF ROAD AND IN HEAVY MUD AND WET CONDITIONS. THE DOWNSIDE OF SUCH TYRES ARE HIGHER FUEL ECONOMY, ROAD NOISE AND REDUCED HANDLING ON TARMAC SURFACES.

THE INITIAL 265 IS THE WIDTH OF THE TYRE, MEASURED IN MILLIMETRES, SO THIS EXAMPLE TYRE IS 265MM WIDE.
THE 75 IS THE HEIGHT OF THE SIDE WALL OF THE TYRE, WHICH TAKES A PERCENTAGE OF THE WIDTH OF THE TYRE, IN THIS CASE 75% OF 265MM.
THE R16 IS THE DIAMETRE OF THE RIM THE TYRE IS DESIGNED TO FIT ON MEASURED IN INCHES, IN THIS EXAMPLE 16 INCHES.
